For the second time, a team from Hampton University has been selected as a national finalist in the PriceWaterhouse Coopers (PwC) Extreme Accounting Case competition. The competition is Jan. 22-23 at the PwC headquarters in New York.
“Over the years we have developed an intensive case preparation training process that these students will participate in during early January,” said Dr. Sid Howard Credle, dean of the HU School of Business. “We know that as a result of this process that when this brain slugfest is over and the dust settles, the HU team will still be standing.”
The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) announced its reaffirmation of accreditation for Hampton University. The reaffirmation continues HU’s accreditation through 2018. SACS announced the reaffirmation at its annual meeting on Dec. 9.
“Hampton University’s faculty, staff and students are doing exemplary work in the areas of academics, research and service,” said HU President Dr. William R. Harvey. “The reaffirmation of accreditation by SACS verifies the Hampton University community’s dedication to continuous growth and improvement.”
The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states. The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a key component of the reaffirmation process. SACS expects that each institution is dedicated to enhancing the quality of its programs and services within the context of its mission, resources and capabilities.
