11.4 REMISSION OF TUITION
Full-time faculty members may receive a tuition remission in an amount approved by the Hampton University Board of Trustees.
A. Faculty wishing to take advantage of this benefit must receive advance approval from their chairperson or dean and the Vice President for Business Affairs and Treasurer.
B. Dependents of regular full-time faculty, as defined below, are eligible to take the courses at reduced fees:
1. Spouse - a spouse must be legally married to a staff member and the marriage recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
2. Dependent child - a dependent child refers to a faculty member's unmarried natural child, stepchild, legally adopted child and who is under age 23. In addition, the dependent child must have been accepted as a dependent on the faculty member's most recent federal income tax return.
