Definition of Crimes

The Campus Security Act of 1990 mandates that Colleges and Universities publish 3 consecutive years of crime stattistics. These statistics must be published by October 1st of each year.

University Police compile and forward monthly incident-based crime reports to the Virginia State Police.  The University also publishes the following statistics to keep its students and employees informed.  The University maintains statistics in accordance with definitions used in the FBI's uniform crime reporting system.

Sexual offender information is available upon request at the University Police Headquarters. Also you can access this information through the Virginia State Police web site.
