  Application Process

ADMISSION TO THE PROGRAM
twobibles.gifAll students desiring admission to the Religious Studies Program must be at least 21 years of age to apply. Interested applicants should submit this completed application as well as have all official documents forwarded to the Religious Studies Program. Your application will not be considered complete until all the following required materials are received:

  • Official high school transcript sent directly from your high school
  • Official test scores on the GED (where a high school transcript is not presented)
  • Official college transcripts sent from an accredited institution (you are also required to submit this Transfer Recommendation Form (17KB PDF Download)
  • The Life Experience Credits Assessment Form and all associated documents for applicants requesting institutional academic credit for applicable life experience.
  • Two letters of reference are required with one preferably being from a educator who has knowledge of your academic abilities, and the other from someone of your choosing, not a relative, who can offer insight on your character.
  • Personal Statement of not less than 500 words must be submitted. This statement should give the evaluators a sense of who you are, where you are from (cultural, spiritual, and social context), what your involvements are/have been, and why you have chosen to pursue a degree in Religious Studies. This statement may be used to assess your writing skills.

Once a complete application is received and an admissions decision is made, you will be initially notified by e-mail, followed up by a hard copy. The acceptance package will contain information about advisement and registration along with other necessary information to get started. THE 2007 - 2008 ACADEMIC YEAR
Session III for the Academic Year 2007 - 2008 will begin on January 7, 2008. Each online session lasts nine weeks. Two courses (6 credit hours) each session constitute a normal course load for the nine-week session. There will be five nine-week sessions during the year. Students may take up to nine hours each session.

Students receiving federal financial aid must be registered for 12 semester hours. To meet this requirement students will register for the Fall Semester (Sessions I and Sessions II) and in January for the Spring Semester (Sessions III and IV). Session V will be a stand-alone summer session.
