Life Experience Credits Assessment Form (LECAF)

Submission of a Life Experience Credits Assessment Form (LECAF) is the methodology the Religious Studies Program employs to assess your learning outside of the classroom in a specific subject area. If you believe that your life experience(s) reasonably equate to the scope of a specific course in the Religious Studies curriculum, you can apply for Life Experience Credit by completing a LECAF for each applicable course.

Your responses to the questions on the LECAF will assist in evaluation of the substantive learning you have drawn from your life experience(s). The next step is to assess the transferability of these experience(s) into academic credits. Utmost attention will be given to properly valuing your life experience(s) as well as conscientiously honoring the integrity of the University's academic standards.

If deemed necessary, you will be asked to write an essay, to take an examination, to engage in a telephonic interview and/or to provide additional samples of your work. Please forward any documentation that will assist the evaluator(s) in accurately and adequately assessing your life experience(s).

Please submit the LECAF along with two copies of supporting documentation, via email, fax, or US Mail (information below), in order to apply for Life Experience Credit for a course.
