When is the application deadline?

The fall Early Action (non-binding) deadline is December 1. The standard application deadline for first-time freshmen is March 1 . The application deadline for the Spring semester is November 1. The application deadline for Transfer students for the Spring semester is November 1.

 
Is there an Early Decision deadline and if so, is it binding?

Currently, there is no Early Decision deadline. Our Early Action deadline (December 1) reserves your space in the class and requires notification of your enrollment plans by May 1.

 
How long does it take to process an application?

Early Action applicants are notified of a decision the fourth week of December.  Applications received after December 1 are generally processed within 3 - 4 weeks of receiving a completed application packet.  Sometimes additional information is requested (i.e. new test scores or an updated transcript) and the processing time will exceed 3 - 4 weeks.

 
Is an application fee required and if so, how much?

Yes, a non-refundable application fee of $35 is required and must be submitted with the application in the form of a cashier’s check or money order. Fee waivers are not accepted.

 
What forms of payment does the university accept?
The University accepts cashier’s checks, money orders, and major credit cards.
 
 
What credentials must be submitted to properly file an application?

A completed application packet for first-time freshmen must include an official high school transcript; official standardized test scores (SAT or ACT); one letter of recommendation; an essay; a copy of your social security card, and the application fee. Transfer students must submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities previously attended; one letter of recommendation; an essay; a copy of your social security card; and the application fee.

 
Does the university require a minimum SAT/ACT score for admission?

Students with a minimum 950 SAT (Math and Critical Reading score only) and a composite ACT of 20 receive consideration for admission. Admission is selective and competitive and only the strongest candidates will be offered admission.

 
Are interviews, references, or essays required for admission?

One letter of recommendation and an essay (refer to application form for specific topic) are required. An interview may be required at the discretion of the Director of Admission.

 
Must a prescribed curriculum be completed in high school?

Applicants must complete 17 Carnegie units: 4 English; 3 Math (Algebra I, II, and Geometry); 2 laboratory sciences (Biology and Chemistry) 2 social sciences; and 6 electives.

 
How will the university evaluate or use two or more sets of SAT/ACT scores?

The better of the sub-scores will be used to evaluate the applicant. The University only reviews the Math and Crtical Reading score of the SAT for admission consideration.

 
What are the transfer admission requirements?

Transfer students must have completed 15 hours of college credit; earn a 2.5 grade point average; and be in good standing with the college previously attended.
