Assessment Center Tutorial Services (ACT)

Tutor Matching Service (TMS) will help you find, schedule, and book face to face sessions with a tutor for over 60 courses at Hampton University all through one easy interface. Search the many great tutors hand-picked by the HU Assessment Center Staff and you can see the ratings that other students have given each tutor.

To get started please click the link below to create a profile and begin scheduling your tutoring sessions! Once you have scheduled your tutoring session you will go to the Harvey Library, Electronic Classroom, on the 5th floor to meet your tutor! Through this portal we encourage you to leave feedback about your session so that we know how we are doing.

How to Become a Tutor

Students interested in becoming a tutor must have at least 30 credit hours completed, a cumulative GPA of a 3.0, and a B in the courses requesting to tutor. If you meet these should complete a Tutor Application form. This form is available in the Assessment Center Office located in the Armstrong-Slater building, 1st floor, Student Counseling Wing.

Need Additional Assistance?

Students have an option to request additional assistance in time management, study strategies, test anxiety, or self-discipline by selecting the "YES" box in the Tutee Evaluation after each tutor session or students can contact the Tutor Coordinator directly to schedule an academic coaching session with them.
