Dr. Linda Kirkland-Harris has been the Director of the Hampton University Student Counseling Center since November 2006. She is a Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor and a Fellow of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. Following graduation from Providence, RI public schools, she completed undergraduate and graduate degrees from Bates College, Rhode Island College, Andover Newton Theological School, and Boston University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences from which she received the Ph.D. in Pastoral Psychology in 1993. The Reverend Kirkland-Harris is an ordained American Baptist clergywoman, who, in addition to clinical work, has taught at secondary, undergraduate and graduate levels, including Boston University School of Theology and Norfolk State University. Dr. Kirkland-Harris enjoys choral singing, writing, gardening every now and then, and photography.
