January 2, 2010
This is the earliest possible date that you can submit the FAFSA form to the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) (www.fafsa.ed.gov). However, we recommend that you complete your 2008 federal tax return (if applicable) before filling out this form. If you have not yet filed your return, you can still submit your FAFSA, but you must provide income and tax information. Once you file your tax return, correct any income or tax information that is different from what you initially submitted on your FAFSA.
March 1, 2010
This is our anticipated date that we will begin processing the FAFSA information (for Incoming Freshmen ONLY) received from the DOE. Your information must have a valid Expected Family Contribution (EFC) amount calculated by the DOE before further processing of the application. In most cases, however, the student or the parent forgot to use their respective Personal Identification Number (PIN) (www.pin.ed.gov)to electronically sign the application.
For all students, we ask that you allow at least three to four weeks for processing of your FAFSA information that we received from the DOE.
Because of federal budget restrictions, we cannot make any guarantees or assurances that additional funding beyond your initial award would become available during the academic year.
April 19, 2010
This is our earliest date that we will begin processing aid for continuing students who plan to enroll in Summer school for 2010. These students must have been enrolled either for the Fall 2009 or Spring 2010 semester, or both. Applications will be made available in the financial aid office. In most cases you must be enrolled at least half-time. Your award, if eligible, will consist of any unused aid from the above semesters. Please direct all questions pertaining to eligibility to your assigned financial aid advisor.
April 30, 2010
This is the last date the financial aid office will process any requests for loan assistance (federal and private) for the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 academic semesters. For federal loans only, we must have an existing, valid FAFSA on record.
