FALL 2010 Disbursement Dates are now listed on the Important Dates tab on our menu. Please be advised that all awards and disbursements are based on a student maintaining Full-Time enrollment. Therefore, if you are not maintaining Full-Time enrollment your award(s) maybe reduced or cancelled.

In keeping with the goal of the Financial Aid Office to provide quality service to all students, we are continuing to develop innovative approaches to help our students to gain greater access to the Financial Aid delivery process in order to better serve them.

Remember to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid Application (FAFSA) as soon as possible after the first of the year! The priority processing date is February 15th for all students. In order for undergraduate students to qualify as a priority filer, we must be in receipt of a valid Expected Family Contribution (EFC) record from the U.S. Department of Education by February 15th.

PERKINS LOAN RECIPIENTS

The Perkins Loan is a federal campus-based student loan which may be offered to On-time, Pell grant eligible students based on the availability of funds.

Students must be enrolled in a full-time status to receive Perkins Loan monies. This loan is serviced by Hampton University.

If a Perkins loan is offered in a student's financial aid award package and then accepted, the student is required to complete a Promissory Note and Perkins Loan Entrance Counseling in person with the Collections Office upon their arrival to campus. The Collections Office is located on the 4th floor of the Academy Building.

Due to limited federal funds, we make no guarantees or assurances that students with the lowest possible EFC (Pell-eligible) will receive additional aid.
