Eligibility for Summer Financial Aid is based on the 2009-2010
FAFSA. In addition to the FAFSA, we require that you complete
a Summer School Financial Aid Application, which signals to us that
you are interested in aid. The Summer School Financial Aid
Application will be available in the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships
between April 1st and May 28th - NO EXCEPTIONS!

Summer 2010 Application
Stafford Loans for Summer are available only for students whom:
- Have not already used their full eligibility during the 2009-2010
academic year
- Attended either Fall and/or Spring semesters during the 2009-2010
academic year
- Undergraduate Students: are enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours during the Summer 2010 term
- Graduate/Professional Students: are enrolled at least half-time during the Summer 2010 term
Independent students (as defined by the US Department of Education) who have used their maximum Stafford amount may be eligible
to borrow a private alternative loan (preferred
lender list);
yet, you MUST apply
for your private alternative loan during the designated dates
of April 1st and May 28th.Parents of Dependent students (as defined by the US Department of Education) may also borrow (if creditworthy) under the PLUS Loan Program.
Before registering for the Summer Session, Continuing Students must pay any balance due from previous enrollment(s).
NO PRIVATE LOANS WILL BE PROCESSED FOR
SUMMER 2010 AFTER MAY 28th, PLEASE PLAN AHEAD!!
Parent PLUS Loans may be available for dependent undergraduates
pending credit approval. Also, if you have used your full
Pell grant eligibility during 2009-2010, you will not be able to
receive any Pell for the Summer. If you plan to graduate in December 2010, you cannot use your Pell eligibility (if applicable) during the Summer 2010 term.
If you are planning on applying for an educational loan, you must complete a Summer School application between April 1 - May 28 before any processing or certifying of your loans can begin (no exceptions). For questions pertaining to your disbursement, you may contact any member of the Loan Department at 1(800) 624-3341 during normal business hours. Please allow a minimum of five (5) business days for processing.
