The Health Center's mission is to provide culturally competent quality health care while promoting healthy lifestyles and behaviors for overall wellness. All students are provided equal access to services regardless of their income, race, sex, nationality, age, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

We provide outpatient care for colds/ flu, sore throats, minor injuries, urinary tract infections, male and female wellness and STI screening exams. We also assist with referrals as needed. Medical care is provided by physicians and a nurse practitioner. The staff includes nurses, a health educator, a medical laboratory technician and front desk personnel.

We are open Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm during the academic year and summer. All students must present a current validated student I.D. at the time of their appointment.

Zika Virus

Please see the CDC Zika Basics Fact Sheet (PDF) for information regarding Zika. The latest information in Virginia regarding the Zika Virus is available at www.vdh.virginia.gov.


Meningitis

The Meningitis vaccination requirements are based on the current CDC guidelines that require documentation of two conjugate vaccines (A, C. Y. W). At least one of the two shots must be given at age 16 or older.


Student Health Insurance

Insurance is required for all undergraduates and international students by September 1, 2016. Please see information regarding the Student Health Insurance Plan requirements.


Medical Record Forms

All Health Center Medical Record Forms are due May 1st for the fall semester and December 1st for the spring semester admission.
