Additional Registration Information
- Program
planning is the responsibility of the individual student. Each
regular degree seeking student, whether part-time or full-time,
has a faculty advisor assigned to assist him or her in planning
a program and sequence of courses. Each academic department
prepares materials to assist students in program planning and
keeping requirements of the major field of study up to date
and coordinated with current professional certification, licensing,
and other requirements. Each student should review his or her
own personal eight-semester (ten for five year program) plan
before each early registration period and be prepared for the
pre-registration conference with his or her academic advisor.
- Early
registration is conducted in mid-semester for the following
semester. It is to each student's advantage to pre-register
for classes and make early financial arrangements. The student
meets with his or her advisor as scheduled, and completes all
pre-registration for courses in the advisor's office or major
department. Billing shortly follows, and all early registration
for the next semester can be completed before the end of the
current semester. The student who registers early and pays
early has priority in most classes, avoids a portion of the
registration fee, and can return for the semester with minimal
check-in processing.
- Changes
in Registration. After an initial registration for a group
of courses is fully validated, a student may make adjustments
in courses, sections, or grading status, if approved by faculty
advisor or major department chairperson.
- The period in which courses may be added and grading status changed
ends approximately one week after the start of classes for
each semester. The Official Academic Calendar contains
the current dates. No schedule changes may be made after this
period ends. A course request form, signed by the student's
faculty advisor or major department chairperson, is the vehicle
for this application to the Registrar.
- The
date for last day to drop a course and have that course removed from
your record is listed in the official Academic Calendar.
- The
period in which a student may withdraw from a course with a
grade of WP (Withdrew Passing) or WF (Withdrew Failing) ends
shortly after the mid semester evaluation period. The Official
Academic Calendar contains the current dates. No courses may
be withdrawn after this period ends.
