The Middle School Component
Cyber Safety Presentation
The Middle School Component of TS serves 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students from the target area. The middle school component meets on select Saturdays during the program year for instruction in math, English, social studies and science.
Certified teachers provide instruction, and college students serve as tutors for individualized assistance. Cultural and educational trips are sponsored throughout the year as well. Breakfast and lunch snacks are provided at each Saturday session. Bus service is available upon request to those students living in the Hampton and Newport News areas.
The High School Component
The high school component of TS serves 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders from the target area. Hampton University college students provide tutorial assistance twice-weekly during the academic year. Various cultural and educational workshops, seminars, trips, and tours are sponsored throughout the year, and special SAT/ACT preparation classes are offered prior to each administration.
Other Program Offerings
Support and educational assistance are also available to veterans of any age and to adults between 18 and 27 years of age. Tutoring and related resources are available for clients preparing for the General Equivalency Diploma (GED), college placement exams, etc.
Talent Search is located on the 2nd floor of the Academy Building. No appointment is necessary.
