The middle school component of ETS serves 6th through 8th grade students attending Andrews, Davis, Eaton, Lindsay, and Syms. Middle school participants focus on building college awareness and strong academic skills necessary to future academic success. The skills include: study habits, time management, communication, and goal setting skills aimed at helping participants think about and work toward academic achievement. The ETS Academic Adviser, based in each school one day a week, works in group and one on one with participants and facilitates biweekly on-site tutoring during lunch (Lunch Bunch Tutoring). In addition, middle school participants can take part in mentoring (weekly), central programs offered at Hampton University, the STEM summer program, as well as cultural and educational trips are sponsored throughout the year.

The High School

The high school component of ETS serves 9th through 12th grade students from Bethel, Hampton, Kecoughtan, and Phoebus. High School participants focus on building the tools necessary for college preparation and success. High School Advisers work with students to learn about colleges, improve grades, determine career interest, and connect to school and community resources. High School students are encouraged to participate in after school tutoring twice a week. In addition, students may take advantage of weekly mentoring programs, seminars, educational workshops, SAT/ACT prep courses, as well as various college tours and cultural opportunities. Summer program opportunities are also offered to High School participants including: The Young Diplomats Summer Program, STEM Academy, and the College Application Boot Camp for Rising 12th graders.
