Student Support Services
On behalf of our entire staff, we congratulate you on your choice to enroll at Hampton University and extend a hearty welcome to our "Home by the Sea!" We are excited that you elected to join Student Support Services (SSS), a federal TRIO Program that has been an integral part of the Hampton University community for the past 40 years. Participants in our program have access to free tutoring, educational and personal counseling, grant aid, graduate and professional school tours, financial literacy initiatives, and social and cultural excursions.
We have recently revamped our website to emphasize our focus on the three most important elements of our program – increasing student retention, graduation, and matriculation rates to graduate school; supporting initiatives to better inform and engage parents, corporate partners, and faculty liaisons in our effort to meet our students' needs; and creating a culture of service in our students. We hope our web pages are user friendly and that the information is relevant. Please let us know if you need any additional information so that we may better serve you.
Exactly fifty years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered the historic "dream speech" at the March on Washington, and we recognize his many contributions to civil liberties via this year's program theme - "Intelligence plus character... is the goal of true education." Our staff has planned an array of informative and exciting activities for the fall semester and we look forward to your active participation in these educational, social, and cultural events.
Again, welcome to Hampton University!
