Student Support Services

Student Support Services (SSS), a federal TRiO Program funded through the U. S. Department of Education, provides educational support services to increase the retention rates of eligible students attending Hampton University through the provision of personal and academic counseling, tutoring, and cultural enrichment/educational seminars. Student Support Services works to help students overcome class, social, academic, and cultural barriers to higher education.

Participants in the Student Support Services Program are more than twice as likely to remain in college than those students from similar backgrounds who do not participate in such programs. Student Support Services not only helps students succeed at the postsecondary level but also encourages the pursuit of graduate degrees as well.
