Internet Access

Building Assignments

In order to connect to the internet from your dorm room, you must configure your web browser to use the proxy server. The proxy server will make connections to the internet on your behalf. You must use your domain account in order to successfully connect to the internet. This will not affect access to Hampton University's online resources (HUnet, Banner, etc.).

To connect to the campus network, you must have an IBM compatible PC or laptop running Windows 95/98 or NT, and a 3COMM 10/100 Network Interface Card (NIC card). You will also have access to the internet in the Academic Technology Mall during Operating hours. For information on installations and prices for NIC cards, go to Service Cost.

Information on "loaner laptops" for Faculty members, please contact the Director of the ATM Teresa Walker. 728-6925 or teresa.walker@hamptonu.edu
