The Audiovisual Collection is located on the 2nd Floor near the Periodicals Service Desk
CONTENT
The Harvey Library has a small collection of circulating audiovisual (AV) materials to support curricular efforts at Hampton University. The Audiovisual Collection contains DVDs, videos, audio books, and recorded data in certain other non-print formats. Motion pictures in DVD or video format form the bulk of the audiovisual collection.
LOCATING MATERIALS
The Call Numbers for these items can be located through the Find Books link on the library web site. The items are arranged by Library of Congress Classification order. Documentary motion pictures, including tutorial productions, are classified according to their subject matter and are accordingly found throughout the full range of Library of Congress classes: A - ZA. All feature films are classed in PN1997 and arranged alphabetically.
SEARCHING AV MATERIALS IN HUWebCat
- You can browse the entire list of AV items by doing a
Power Search in the Online Catalog using the Find Books link.
- When you are in the Power Search interface, you will
see a box labeled Location in the lower right hand side of the form.
- Click on the drop-down menu and select Audio/Visual.
- Click on Search.
- You should receive a result showing the entire Harvey
Library audiovisual holdings.
- To search more specifically you can add keywords to your search.
