Description

To manage and monitor Grants and Contracts Reporting staff. Review all work (as indicated below) of staff to ensure it is completed efficiently and accurately.

Duties and Responsibilities

Team Responsibility and work to be reviewed:

  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in accordance to the applicable grant guidelines

  • Reviews and provides monthly expenditure to budget reports to Principal Investigators to allow for timely use of grant funds

  • Reconciles grant expenditures to ensure funds are used properly

  • Prepares invoices and drawdown requests for monthly reimbursements from awarding agencies

  • Prepares grant closeout reports

  • Prepare month end journal entries as it relates to grants

  • Creates grant accounts and ensure appropriate budget is loaded to Banner Finance system

  • Review special reports and questionnaires as it relates to grant funding

  • Review and discuss budget information related to grants with project coordinators and/or awarding agency representatives

  • Adhere to requirements regarding performance reviews and audits from awarding agencies

    Individual Responsibility:

  • Prepare monthly journal entries

  • Prepare financials statements

  • Prepare reports and/or retrieve financial data for federal and main audit

  • Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Comptroller and Assistant Vice President for Business Affairs and Comptroller

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from four-year college or university with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience with supervisory responsibilities.

  • Previous grant management and preparing financial statements preferred.

  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good communication skills and Project management skills.

  • Computer literate with knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel.
