The Receptionist performs various duties and provides support requiring discretion and good judgment to the Supervisor of the Physical Plant. To use positive verbal and non-verbal communication skills when working with district personnel and community leaders to ensure efficient operations. Have good interpersonal and public relations to ensure the mission of the Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the efficient operation of the Physical Plant.

  • Ability to assist the Supervisor with the development and operation of department budget.

  • Ability to react to change and frequent interruptions in a productive and positive manner, meeting deadlines as assigned.

  • Communicate and work effectively, cooperatively, and positively with members of the university and community, including greeting contacts and directing them to the appropriate office staff.

  • All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.


  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

  • Applicants should be proficient using office equipment, including computers, printers, copiers & scanners.

  • The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office software and comfortable with email.


  • Administrative experience desired.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

  • Professional, confident approach to work, timeliness is of critical importance.

  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.

  • Organized, accurate, thorough and deadline focused.

  • Ability to work as part of a team, yet self-sufficient and can work individually.
