Description

The Pharmacist for Hampton University, has a critical role at the forefront delivering our purpose, modeling our values, and demonstrating genuine, authentic care for our patients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and administrative oversight at the HU testing and vaccination platforms

  • Daily tracking, monitoring, testing and vaccination procedures of persons tested and vaccinated

  • Administer vaccinations

  • Conduct Point of Care Testing

  • Provide Comprehensive Medication Review, patient education, and counseling

  • Serve as preceptor for clinical students

  • Conduct education and training as required for clinical engagement activities

  • Evaluate the competency of all testing and vaccinating personnel

  • Monitor employee’s work schedules

  • Evaluate employee’s work performance and enforce personnel policies.

  • Serve as the representative for all testing, vaccinations, and screening platforms at state, local, and Hampton University meetings

  • Complies with the state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy and the drug enforcement administration

  • Comply with HIPAA and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations

  • Maintains valid any specialty licenses, certificates, or permits required for the position

  • Maintains knowledge of research studies, existing and new legislation, anticipates legislation, and advises management on needed actions

  • Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

  • Coordinate interdisciplinary community outreach activities

  • Ability to travel

  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from college or university accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE)
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Pharmacist
  • Current American Heart Association BLS or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (i.e. APhA)
