Description

We are seeking a talented data specialist to provide data governance and analysis support to the Office of Development. In this role, you will be responsible for collating and verifying data from multiple sources, assisting with the implementation of data storage systems, and executing data updates and transfers. This position supports all general records entry and analysis functions.

  • Creates, maintains, and enhances the relationships between the alumni and the University;
  • Assists with alumni events both locally and nationally;
  • Assists with annual events such as Alumni weekend, parents weekend, assembly meetings and class reunions;
  • Develops reports to support office efforts with alumni planning and implementing events;
  • Assists with and attends appropriate Alumni Association, Alumni Affairs, and Office of Development events;
  • Maintains office records and ensures adherence with policies regarding reporting and respective timelines.
  • Works and participates as an effective member of the overall team;
  • Performs other related duties for Alumni Affairs and Development as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

Data Governance-

  • Execute all regular transaction processes necessary to maintain operations records and databases.
  • Perform extracting, importing, and exporting of data in various database applications.
  • Assist in implementation, testing, and validating data, reports and systems with the University’s technology departments.
  • Perform data analysis of key problem areas to assist in root cause analysis.
  • Audit data on a regular basis to ensure data integrity and quality.
  • Establish operational procedures to utilize the database and provide technical support or software maintenance for any unique programs.
  • Assist with ongoing data architecture processes and governance.
  • Generally oversee data conversion processes (paper to digital) to ensure that this data is accurate and accessible.
  • Perform data reconciliations to identify data anomalies.
  • Escalate data issues needing process re-engineering.
  • Train staff, as necessary, on data operational activities.

Data Analysis-

  • Collect business intelligence data from sources which may include industry reports, public information, field reports or purchased findings.
  • Updating personal knowledge about relevant technology trends or emerging markets in higher education in addition to gathering data related to the key audiences and the market.
  • Analyze the departmental data to identify any trends that could impact engagement, fundraising and stewardship strategies.
  • Utilize the results of the analysis to support recommendations for action to improve or even grow the department.
  • Prepare analytical reports to summarize findings and share with the appropriate departmental or University stakeholders through established communication processes.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of database software required.
  • Relational database systems preferred.
  • Operation of a computer, codes and their applications, and generation of reports.
  • Financial and statistical record-keeping techniques.
  • Oral and written communications skills.
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
