The Department of Physics at Hampton University invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty position for the academic year of 2021-2022.

Founded in 1868, Hampton University is a leading historically black university (HBCU) located on the Virginia Peninsula, in the City of Hampton.  It is a privately endowed, co-educational, non-sectarian institution of higher learning with accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.

The Department of Physics offers the Bachelor of Science in Physics, and Master of Science and Ph.D. in Physics. 

Duties and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Adjunct Faculty is to teach introductory physics and service courses offered by the Department of Physics. In addition, the Adjunct Faculty is expected to support the integrity of the offered curricula, to provide student mentoring and promote student success, and to advance the mission of the School of Science and the University as a whole.



Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related area/discipline by the time of appointment. Preference will be given to the candidates with postdoctoral experience and proven record of teaching.
