Business and Ticket Manager

The Athletics Business and Ticket Manager is responsible for the oversight of the athletic budget, budget transfers, travel advances, annual revenue reports, oversight of event staff, and ticket management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor Athletic Department budget for all sport/administrative areas and provide assistance to all head coaches regarding the same
  • Audit and submit requisitions, travel advances, budget transfers and budget waivers for all sport/administrative areas
  • Deliver requisitions, travel advances, budget transfers and budget waivers to be signed by the Director of Athletics and Budget Executive for review/signature
  • Monitor requisitions by using Banner and physically following up with the Business Office/Purchasing for purchase order (PO) creation
  • Submit POs and signed invoices to Accounts Payable for check generation and/or hold for pick-up status
  • Follow-up with Accounts Payable on travel advances for coaches and other travel related items to ensure that checks are generated and delivered in a timely manner
  • Assist in preparing annual revenue reports
  • Responsible for tickets to sell for away games, as needed
  • Assist in providing tickers for student-athletes pass list (home and away games)
  • Reconciliation and submission of ticket sales forms and ticket sales revenue generated by ticket sellers
  • Prepare audit and submit payroll vouchers for all event staff, Pick-up/disburse to event staff, once available
  • Ensure that ticker booths and equipment are operational prior to/on game day
  • Prepare and submit bank advance memos for all ticketed home events
  • Build/create events using the Ticketmaster system
  • Prepare ticket sales reports for submission to the Business Office and Internal Auditor
  • Prepare and submit amusement tax reports to Business Office for submission
  • Prepare requisitions to pay expenses associated with ticket sales, as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

A bachelor's degree with a concentration in business, accounting or sports administration usually is a basic requirement to start a job as an athletic business manager. Often, a master's degree or extensive experience is preferred.
