Description

The Project Coordinator of Student Affairs is responsible for recruiting new students to the University and School and must be able to travel for recruitment activities. This person must have a flexible schedule with the ability to periodically work evenings and weekends. The Project Coordinator must be a team player, high-energy, creative, forward thinking, self-directed, and must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. The Project Coordinator reports directly to the Coordinator of Student Affairs and will work closely with the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Assessment and the School Dean.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary Recruiter for HUSOP
  • Creates and enhances relationships with colleges and universities through articulation and affiliation agreements
  • Coordinates outreach to high schools and colleges for participation or initiation of career fairs
  • Represents HUSOP at all career fairs, open houses, etc. that involve recruitment (i.e. Parents Weekend, Fall Open House, Admitted Students Day, High School Day)
  • Secures pre-professional and/or professional students to assist with recruitment activities
  • Serves as a member of HUSOP committees
  • Submits monthly calendar of HUSOP activities to the Office of the Chancellor and Provost
  • Serves as an interview panelist
  • Receives new freshman list from Admissions, generates acceptance letters and sends a copy of acceptance letters to Admissions
  • Responds to inquiries from prospective students
  • Assists with the annual new student orientation and new student registrationSends a list of advisees and advisement PINs to faculty advisors each semester
  • Serves as back-up to Coordinator of Student Affairs as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher is highly desirable
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to travel for recruitment visits in the local area and out of state
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently on important projects
  • PREFERRED: Previous experience in Higher Education or an Admissions Department
