Description
Hampton University is seeking an Administrative Assistant who will assist the office of the James T. George (JTG) School of Business - Department of Marketing with various administrative and clerical support tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
-
Maintain a file with information for all Marketing majors and Marketing minors.

Performs all clerical tasks, including typing, copying, scanning, retrieving, sorting and sending emails.

Assists in the preparation of meetings and events including school and committee meetings organized by the Department of Marketing.

Manages Marketing office desk operations (including answering the telephone and greeting students and visitors.
-
Collect and keep organized files of faculty grades and syllabi.
-
Order office supplies.
-
Drop off and pick up copies from office services for the office and faculty. (Across campus).
-
Prepares pre-employment packages for faculty.
-
Create flyers and/or PowerPoint presentations as needed.
-
Provide student assistance.
-
Write meeting minutes
-
Prepare reports
-
Textbook orders.
-
Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair
Qualifications

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Strong communication skills

Detail oriented
