Description

The Catering Manager oversees the banquet needs of all events.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Load and unload event equipment into catering vehicles, following all University and vehicle safety procedures;
  • Ensure that appropriate sanitation, organization, and safety standards are met through the use of checklists, hands-on supervision, and follow-up;
  • Display excellent customer service and maintain a well-groomed, neat appearance;
  • Assist with booking of events, selecting and costing menu items, and pricing as needed;
  • Prepare banquet room for the event;
  • Maintain equipment and all other catering supplies;
  • Responsible for hiring, training, discipline, and performance evaluation
  • Maintain storage rooms and supplies in an orderly fashion;
  • Ensure all delivery and pick-up times are met;
  • Lead external communication efforts related to sales and the cultivation of new client relationships.
  • Facility Cleanliness and Food Safety Standards. You will follow proper food handling techniques utilizing Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), ServSafe, and facility policies and procedures;

Requirements

  • The Catering Manager requires excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to motivate and supervise team members to attain quality and quantity of food production in a work environment;
  • Experience creating a program aimed at local sales reps, corporate clients, and other local businesses;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
