Description
The Catering Manager oversees the banquet needs of all events.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Load and unload event equipment into catering vehicles, following all University and vehicle safety procedures;
- Ensure that appropriate sanitation, organization, and safety standards are met through the use of checklists, hands-on supervision, and follow-up;
- Display excellent customer service and maintain a well-groomed, neat appearance;
- Assist with booking of events, selecting and costing menu items, and pricing as needed;
- Prepare banquet room for the event;
- Maintain equipment and all other catering supplies;
- Responsible for hiring, training, discipline, and performance evaluation
- Maintain storage rooms and supplies in an orderly fashion;
- Ensure all delivery and pick-up times are met;
- Lead external communication efforts related to sales and the cultivation of new client relationships.
- Facility Cleanliness and Food Safety Standards. You will follow proper food handling techniques utilizing Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), ServSafe, and facility policies and procedures;
Requirements
- The Catering Manager requires excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to motivate and supervise team members to attain quality and quantity of food production in a work environment;
- Experience creating a program aimed at local sales reps, corporate clients, and other local businesses;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- High school diploma or equivalent.
