Description
The Stock Clerk is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing products and supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive stock, and count items, and record data manually or using computer
- Load and unload vendor trucks and deliveries
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in supply rooms, or other areas
- Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment
- Clean and maintain supplies, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Maintain delivery and supply records
- Assist with weekly inventory
- Examine and inspect supplies for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisor
- Dispose of damaged or defective items and/or return items
- Ensure daily product and supplies requisitions are executed
- Issue or distribute products and supplies to staff, based on information from incoming requisitions.
- Follow proper food handling techniques utilizing Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), ServSafe, and facility policies and procedures;
- Perform “other” job related duties as assigned by management to help achieve the established goals of unit and campus community
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends and some Holidays
- Must be reliable, responsible, polite, groomed, and articulate
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, and occasional heavy lifting (up to 75 pounds)
- Ability to stand on one’s feet and execute repetitive motion constantly, and up to 8 hours a day
