Food Services Supervisor supervises the daily operations of the organization’s food service function. Maintains food storage level and report when it’s low. Being a Food Services Supervisor reviews menus and supervises the handling and preparation. Ensures quality standards for foods are followed. Additionally, Food Services Supervisor maintains cleanliness of working area and the facilities. The Food Services Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Trains workers in performance of duties;
  • Supports dining services operations according to established standards and procedures, taking into account any special requirements;
  • Assists the Dining Services Manager in supervising employees that prepare and serve food;
  • Supervises all employees in the absence of the Manager;
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Food Services or person in charge of area where work is being done;
  • You will follow proper food handling techniques utilizing Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), ServeSafe, and facility policies and procedures;


  • They require excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to motivate and supervise team members to attain quality and quantity of food production in a work environment;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
