Description
The Center for Information Technology (CIT)/ERP Jr. Programmer/Analyst is responsible for providing initial Tier I/II technical support and assisting campus faculty, staff and administrators with various Banner ERP modules. This position is required to assist in writing, testing, maintaining, and supporting PL/SQL scripts in Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems. The successful candidate will have experience in application development using current, industry-standard technologies. This role requires an individual with proficient communication and people skills coupled with a technical understanding the software development lifecycle to work with the technical staff and functional/business community.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create SQL query statements to satisfy user requests for reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Prepare data for job runs
- Support existing jobs or query request
- Troubleshoot, analyze and change user requests for reporting purposes within University
- Develop and/or enhance stored procedures
- Ability to demonstrate the learning capability to cope with fast pace development
- Write ad-hoc SQL queries to support data analysis
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
Requirements
- BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent. May substitute the equivalent in a combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
- Three or more years of significant and relevant systems administration experience
- Solid foundational knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
- 2+ years’ experience with database languages Transact SQL (T-SQL), Procedural Language (PL)/SQL and related technologies
- 1+ years of experience in Relational database concepts, relational logical modeling, best practices and/or physical design
- Design and evaluate developing methods or scripts for user requests of Banner information
- Able to articulate requests from users
- Adhere to industry standard best practices for Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Qualifications
- Unit Test and SQL Query optimization
- Use of Toad Software
- Reporting tool experience is a plus
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Deadline and detail oriented
- Current CompTIA, Microsoft, or other industry related certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Excellent customer service skills
