Description

The Custodian is responsible for general cleaning and maintenance duties which may include: vacuuming, dusting, item washing, trash collecting and proper sorting. Works to ensure offices, rest rooms, facilities, and other specified areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition. Being a Custodian typically reports to a supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be willing to sweep, mop, dust, pull trash which can weigh 40 or more pounds, fill all dispensers, soap, paper towel and toilet paper;

  • Must have an understanding of job duties, machines, and equipment necessary to complete tasks;

  • Uses personal protective equipment correctly such as safety glasses and vinyl gloves;

  • Produces quality work within pre-set time frames;

  • Shows initiative in regard to job functions and accepts new responsibilities as needed;

  • Has a willingness to work with and help others;

  • Cleaning and stocking restrooms, and other areas;

  • Other duties as assigned;

  • Polish windows and other surfaces as assigned;

  • Maintain safety procedures by handling cleaning equipment and supplies according to company protocols;

  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment;

  • Other cleaning duties as needed;

  • Cleaning and restocking restrooms;

Requirements

  • Must be able to work independently;

  • Positive attitude, willingness to perform all duties, punctuality, and reliability are a necessity to be successful in the position;

  • Must have the capability of understanding instructions both written and oral communication;

  • Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies;

  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds;
