To assist with preparing reconciliations and reports relating to all accounting functions to the appropriate individuals, organizations or companies, as well as, the ability to solve practical problems and calculate figures and amounts with a variety of variables in different situations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in reviewing and preparing monthly financial statements • Review the balancing and reconciling general ledger accounts and report results • Review all clearing and suspense accounts to ensure they are maintained • Prepare year-end and monthly close-out reports • Prepare reports and/or retrieve financial data for all audits • Assist with special reports and questionnaires, i.e. IPEDS, SCHEV, NACUBO, CICV, Alumni giving, etc. • Acts as liaison between departmental end-users and the IT Department in the analysis, design, configuration, testing, and maintenance of new and existing accounting systems • Assist in reviewing current operational procedures in relation to accounting systems to identify problems and provide recommendations on how to improve business processes through existing accounting systems • Analyzes business requirements to implement new systems and upgrades to existing systems • Maintains detailed documents of process changes and procedure for use in future training • Other duties as assigned by the Grants and Contracts Reporting Manager and Assistant Vice President for Business Affairs and Comptroller


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from four-year college or university • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience • Strong Computer Information Systems background preferred • Computer literate with knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel • Must be able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
