The Center for Information Technology IT Analyst of the Computer Center will report to the Director/Computer Center. This position will plan, design and implement new systems and changes to the existing data processing systems to support management control and decision-making activities primarily with the administrative operations of the campus (Offices of Financial Aid, Admissions, Registrar, Alumni, Development, Human Resources and Business).

Duties and Responsibilities

· Manages day-to-day IT operations to include Storage, Email, Active Directory, and Back-Ups

· Manage servers, security solutions, network hardware and equipment for Backup

· Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary

· Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups

· Monitor and troubleshoot daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary

· Support and manage technical projects

· Configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements

· Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures

· Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing and service provision

· Repair and recover from hardware or software failures and coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies

Preferred Experience:

· Hands-on application understanding of Windows 2012/2016 environment

· Familiarity in a Linux server environment

· Skilled with Windows and Mac OS desktops

· Knowledge of CIS and/or NIST controls

· Expertise with networking and firewall

· Competencies with critical problem solving, issue identification, analytical and technical documentation skills

· Ability to work independently and productively under pressure

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment


· Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or equivalent level of training and experience.

· At least 3-5 years of management experience and supervision and ability to provide leadership to technical staff in a matrixed environment

· Working knowledge of programming analysis, systems design, database design, data communication, network concepts and multiplatform operating systems.

· Ability to lead projects requiring technical coordination thru implementation

· Experience in higher education and administrative systems required; Experience in Ellucian’s Banner system is a plus

· Strong written and oral communications skills

· Able to support ongoing communications with users and executive management on technical information services and systems

· Working knowledge of spam email mitigation techniques
