The Admission Counselor is responsible for attracting and recruiting new students to the University by making presentations on the strengths and attributes of the University.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the internal office Admission Counselor by meeting with prospective students, parents, and counselors and promote the strengths and attributes of the University.

  • Review applications and make recommendations for admission to the Dean of Admission based upon submitted credentials in relationship to the mission and goals of the University.

  • Provide administrative support for all campus visitation programs to include Open Houses, daily tours, and special weekend visitation programs.

  • Load mail into banner system and file in folder or transcript cart.

  • Provide tele-counseling for prospective students and parents regarding application status.

  • Print Royall & Company credentials daily from the large printer and sort them in alpha order for distribution.

  • Process on-site applications received from admission counselors to be given to data entry for further processing.

  • Participate in extensive training of all banner admission screens.

  • Assist in all efforts pertinent to the successful operation of the Admission Office.

  • All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.


  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience working in a college/university Admission Office is highly desired

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use technology as it relates to social media


  • Excellent communication, oral, and written skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use technology as it relates to social media.
