The Hampton University Department of English and Foreign Languages invites nominations and applications for adjuncts in the Department of English and Foreign Languages within the School of Liberal Arts and Education. The successful candidate reports to the Department Chair and will have a specialization in composition, rhetoric, or linguistics.  We are looking for candidates with experience working with diverse populations, and those who demonstrate dedication to student learning and achievement. 

Duties and Responsibilities

The faculty member will be responsible for the following duties:

Teaching undergraduate composition, writing, grammar, linguistic, and other courses in both face-to-face and online formats, as well as technical writing courses as needed;

Performing other duties as assigned by the Chairperson, Assistant Dean, or Dean.


All candidates should have an earned MA or higher degree (ABD considered) in their field from an accredited university with a minimum of two years of college-level teaching or work with high school AP Honors or magnate classes--preferred.  Preference will be given to candidates with ESL/TESOL Certification, as ESL experience is desired.
