Description

The ideal candidate will be confident, imaginative, creative, patient, organized, flexible and a problem solver with outstanding communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Writes news releases, copy for publicity campaigns, radio and TV announcement copy.

  • Edits video assignments, news releases, radio scripts, feature stories, multiple platform releases; including web and social media postings, as well as still and video photography.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or public relations preferred.

  • 3 – 5 years in high-tempo PR office/agency, newsroom or TV operation preferred.

  • Experience in Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Publisher and video editing suites are a plus.

  • Some evening and weekend hours are required.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in writing and editing news release copy to AP stylebook standards.

  • Experienced in media relations.

  • Proficient in non-linear videography and editing.

  • Comfortable in front of the camera.

  • Familiar with design programs such as Photoshop, InDesign, Publisher and Office 365.

  • Ability to perform under pressure with quickly changing requirements and deadlines.
