This Programmer Analyst position supports the implementation, maintenance, and upgrades of information system technologies and relational database management systems (RDBMS). The successful candidate is a highly motivated technical team member that provides tier II and tier III technical support, functional assistance, and that is able develop, write, test, implement and maintain moderate to complex PL/SQL, PowerShell, and BASH scripts. This position requires server management expertise in heterogeneous WindowsLinuxmacOS environments, virtualization infrastructures, Microsoft Exchange, Oracle Enterprise Database, hyper-convergence, and other enterprise level technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates, maintains, tunes, and backup all RDBMS databases required for development, testing, and production usage

  • Develops, writes, tests, implements and maintains moderate to complex Procedural Structured Query Language (PL/SQL) scripts using TOAD for Oracle

  • Acts as a technical member or lead of teams by providing technical assistance, expertise, leadership, and performing assigned tasks

  • Automate data extractions and integration within Banner ERP

  • Create and maintain detailed, technical documentation

  • Develop and provide audit reports

  • Train faculty and staff on various Banner ERP modules

  • Manage Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange 2010/2016 via GUI and PowerShell cmdlets

  • Perform system backup and disaster recovery

  • Implement and configure new and existing server, storage, and networking hardware

  • Provision and manage virtual systems using Hyper-V, System Center, and VMware VSphere

  • Providing Tier III support for Windows 7, 8.1, 10, macOS, and Linux clients

  • Apply server and client operating system updates, patches and configuration changes

  • All other duties as assigned by Director


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training or relevant experience
  • Equivalent technical training and/or work experience may suffice in lieu of academic requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 2013/2016 Products
  • Experience with Oracle PL/SQL, MySQL, or MSSQL scripting and databases
  • Current CompTIA A+, Linux+, Network+, Security+, or Server+ certification desired
  • Current MCITP or MCSA desired
  • Familiarity working with Windows and Linux/UNIX platforms
  • Strong public, verbal, and written communication skills


  • Proficient, working knowledge of Oracle Database 11g or 12c
  • Excellent communication and strong analytical skills
  • Experience or familiarity with programming fundamentals and common languages
  • Preferred experience with the Ellucian Banner system
  • Experience writing Oracle Procedural Structured Query Language (PL/SQL) scripts
  • Ability to effectively plan, document, and communicate
  • Experience operating in an higher-education environment
  • Three or more years working with Microsoft infrastructure technologies: Active Directory, MS Exchange 2010/2013/2016, System Center, WSUS, etc.
  • One or more years working in Linux/UNIX environments
  • Experience with virtualization technologies: Hyper-V, VMware vSphere
  • Preferred experience with advanced SharePoint system administration

  • Preferred working knowledge of enterprise relational databases (MSSQL, Oracle, etc.)

  • Preferred experience operating in an higher-education environment

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 2013/2016 Products including Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project
