Welcome Back! Nothing
is more important to a great future than a great education. That’s
why the Office of Financial Aid at Hampton University makes it our
mission to “put students first” and to work diligently
to provide you with the best possible financial package for college.
Our counseling staff takes pride in working one-on-one with you
and your family throughout your college years.
Hampton University participates in a
wide range of federal and state aid programs. With a combination
of need-based grants, scholarships, loans and student employment,
we work hard to make Hampton University affordable for all admitted
students.
About 70 percent of Hampton
University students receive some form of financial assistance.
To make sure you receive the best possible financial aid award,
we ask that you remember the following:
- To complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
as soon as possible after January 1.
- To apply and submit
the FAFSA electronically at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
We encourage all of our students to apply by February 15. Our
priority filing date is March 1, to meet this priority
filing date; we must have a valid expected family contribution
(EFC) on file. All financial aid application received after the
March 1 deadline, will receive financial aid in the form of loans
and if eligible, a Federal Pell Grant.
We never stop thinking of ways to streamline
our services to better serve you! This year, our goal is to issue
a financial aid award letter to every current student by July 17,
2008. To help us accomplish our goal, please respond promptly to
all correspondence and/or telephone call(s) from our office concerning
your financial aid status. If you do not receive your award
letter by July 18, 2008, please contact us at 1-800-624-3341.
For your convenience, our office hours
are Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 5:00pm. Each
student that enters Hampton University will be assigned a financial
aid counselor. Our experienced counselors are eager to work with
you individually to answer your questions about financial aid.
We want to make the financial aid process as easy as possible!
